ORIGINAL APPLICATION

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR APPLICATION COMPLETED PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME, AS WELL AS A COLOR PHOTO TO FIT IN THE BOX ON THE FRONT OF THE APPLICATION.

  • Completed application form. Applications for a Carrying Concealed Handgun permits are available at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office or you can print the application online at the following link:  CCW Application
  • A 2″x 2″(approximate size) color photo (taken within 30 days of date of application) attached to application. This photo can be printed on computer paper, a photo you have on hand at home, or a passport photo. Any of these will be accepted.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must provide proof of completion of the required CCW training course (the minimum hours requirements for a firearms competency certification course is 8 hours which includes two hours of in-person training that consists of range time and live-fire training, and allows for a combination of in person and online training). You will be required to sign an affidavit attesting to this completion when you make application. If you are active military you will need to show your military ID and/or any weapons qualification records.  For prior military, you will need to show your most recent DD214 showing Honorable Discharge. Fees for military will be waived in Ohio until the total amount of fees waived reaches $1.5 million. Once the cap has been reached, the fee will no longer be waived for the remainder of the year.
  • Must attest to having read the Ohio Attorney General’s Concealed Carry Law Book.
  • Registration fee of $67.00 cash, cashiers check or money order if the applicant has been a resident of Ohio for MORE than five years consecutively
  • Registration fee of $77.00 cash, cashiers check or money order if the individual has been a resident of Ohio for LESS than five Years.

Payment must be made in the form of Cash, Cashiers Check or Money Order. NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.

RENEWAL APPLICATION

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR APPLICATION COMPLETED PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME, AS WELL AS A COLOR PHOTO TO FIT IN THE BOX ON THE FRONT OF THE APPLICATION. 

Effective November 5, 2018, you may renew your CCW permit at any time by appointment (removes 90 day timeframe).

  • Completed application form. (You must complete a NEW application for a renewal.) Applications for a Carrying Concealed Handgun permits are available at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office or you can print the application online at this link:  CCW Application
  • A 2″x 2″ (approximate size) color photo (taken within 30 days of date of application) attached to application. This photo can be printed on computer paper, a photo you have on hand at home, or a passport photo. Any of these will be accepted.
  • Must attest to having reviewed the Ohio Attorney General’s Concealed Carry Law book.
  • (If you do not have your original certificate from your CCW training, please call to verify what you will need to bring in.) You must provide previous CCW ID and/or proof of completion of the required CCW training course. If you are active military you will need to show your military ID and/or any weapons qualification records.  For prior military, you will need to show your most recent DD214 showing Honorable Discharge. Fees for military will be waived in Ohio until the total amount of fees waived reaches $1.5 million. Once the cap has been reached, the fee will no longer be waived for the remainder of the year.
  • Renewal fee of $50.00 cash, cashiers check or money order, if the applicant has been a resident of Ohio for MORE than five years consecutively.
  • Renewal fee of $60.00 cash, cashiers check or money order, if the individual has been a resident of Ohio for LESS than five Years.

REPLACEMENT LICENSES

Please call  for the following:

Lost or stolen CCW- replacement fee is $15.00 cash, cashiers check or money order. Please call to schedule a time to come in.

Address or name change- It is required you notify the issuing agency of your address change within 45 days of its occurrence. It is recommended you get a new card, however not required. Please call to schedule a time to come in if you would like to get a new card. The fee for a new card is $15.00 cash, cashiers check or money order.
