Pursuit – Assist BGPD


Pemberville, OH – UPDATE: SUSPECT APPREHENDED AFTER A FOOT CHASE IN THE AREA OF BRADNER AND KAHLER ROADS (5:57PM). The Wood County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Bowling Green Police Division during a motor vehicle pursuit which ended in a crash at the intersection of Bradner and Kahler roads. The operator of the vehicle is believed to be Matthew Stoughton, who is a suspect in the armed robbery of Jak’s Pharmacy in the City of Bowling Green. After the crash, which occurred at 10:32am, the suspect fled into a cornfield.

An exhaustive ground and air search of the area was conducted until approximately 3:20pm.

Deputies continue to remain in the area and will throughout the evening.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, Ohio Highway Patrol Special Response Team and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded to assist in the search.

The air search was conducted by the Ohio Highway Patrol Aviation Unit as well as the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (Michigan) Aviation Unit.

Assistance at the scene was also rendered by the Ohio Highway Patrol; the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office including their K-9 Unit and the Pemberville Fire Department. Additional K-9 units from the Woodville, Oregon, Fostoria and CSX Police Departments as well as the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
