On October 03, 2014 at 2122 hours the Wood County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on State Route 18 at State Route 235, just North of the Village of Hoytville.

A 1994 Subaru was travelling eastbound on State Route 18 and missed the curve at State Route 235.  The vehicle then struck a tree and overturned.  The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver was identified as Michael L. Heitmeyer, 32 years old of Findlay, Ohio.

The crash is still under investigation.
